The conference “Lightweight Technologies when Using Thermoplastic Composites”, organized by Leartiker S.Coop., will be the stage where the European project AEROCAR on technological transfer between aeronautics and automotive sectors will be monitored.
On March 31, at 9:30 am, Leartiker Technology Center will host a technical day on technologies that lighten materials at the Auditorium of the Innovation Pole of Lea-Artibai. Among the presentations scheduled on that day is the dissemination of the AEROCAR project, led by Leartiker.
It is a project co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe Program, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), that will last 3 years and in which participate, in addition to the Leartiker S.Coop., CTAG (Automotive Technological Centre of Galicia), RESCOLL (a Technological Center specialized in material development, France) and INEGI (Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Portugal).
AEROCAR, which began in July 2016, aims to create a constant synergy between the aeronautics and automotive sectors that will improve the productivity through the creation of new technologies, materials or processes, or through their transfer from one sector to another. Therefore, the technologies developed within the project will be those that the automotive sector can apply to the problems of the aeronautical sector, and vice versa. This method will permit to reach the full potential of existing technologies and make technology transfer easy. In addition, the companies in both sectors will participate in collaborating in the selection of the most viable products and prototypes so that they can become products that are effectively applied to the current manufacturing processes.
